Subject: Still Worked Years Later in the "Gohan" Era of Children
No, seriously. In the mid to late 1990's, they were still selling toys like this with commercials just like this, at least in the somewhat backward English-speaking drought-prone country I live in.
I wonder then, as this is an American commercial, how well this type of toy sold in the US of A?
Subject: Made for children to buy
Good commercial for a toy that didn't look to expense to make.

Subject: Ah Memories!!!
I actually had one of these as a kid. As I remember it wouldn't do half the things as well as the commercial implied!!! (Oh what a surprise!)After winding the prop FOREVER it would run maybe 20 ft when you attached the wheels, and the bit about it going from underwater to hydroplane across the top... NO WAY! it would flop around like a dying fish once it hit the surface...But its a great commercial and I wish I still had this toy.
Subject: thunderstreak.. Thunderstreak! THUNDERSTREAK!
One of favorite ads on this site. This has one of the most hyper narrators ever. If I was a kid in the 1960's I'd be badgering my parents for this... Heck I'd buy it today if it were availible. It can travel on water! Underwater! On land! on Ice! It can go anywhere! (sound effect not included)
Subject: Well, whatever honks your knob...
I swear, seeing this toy again made me spew with ecstasy. No "beating around the bush" here, I actually oozed a healthy quantity of "the white stuff" into my prodigious drawers when I saw this. Yup, it took me way back, into a simpler time, when such things were exciting in an unwholesome way.
I have since successfully sought therapy.
